New Mercy
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Lamentations:3:22-23
All I can say is GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS!!!!
We are on the other side of surgery now, and I can truly say, the Lord's mercies are new every morning....and He is so faithful!!! It's a new morning for us, here at the hospital, and wow....new mercies were needed, and New mercies were given!! I will have a more detailed post about the surgery day a little later....just wanted to do a quick update as I sit beside Judson's bedside this morning!
First of all, I want to thank our parents, family, and friends for being here with us yesterday, taking care of the other kids, getting food, praying, and just supporting!
Second, I want to thank my AMAZING husband who so selflessly allowed me to take Jackson into our family sleep room last night at 930 (central time), and sleep till 130 this morning!! I was able to get rested up for today, and he took amazing care of Judson while I slept!! He stayed at his bedside the whole time, held his hand, gave him Pedialyte, whatever else was needed. When we finally switched out, he kept texting me to make sure Juddy was okay and didn't need him! I thank the Lord for Josh! He's been my rock through this!
Update on Judson:
4:15am (central time), less than 24 hours after surgery:
Immediately after surgery he was in a lot of pain, but looked great! They were able to control his pain through morphine, oxycodone, and Tylenol. He rested on and off through the day and evening.
He also has been resting well through the night. In the PICU, the nurse has to do an assessment every hour.....so he wakes up for that and fusses, but then goes back to sleep.
This is the picture before he went to sleep last night, he was starting to swell around his left eye which is completely normal.
Judson currently has 2 IV lines, an arterial line to constantly measure his BP and allow for blood to be drawn, A drain from his head, O2 monitor, BP cuff, and chest leads.
We are about 17 hours post surgery now, and his left eye is swollen shut and his right eye is almost there (again, completely normal due to the amount of trauma that took place on his head yesterday). I will post pictures on this blog only, of his swelling later today, after our family is able to visit with him.
Mommy and Daddy can't hold him until he has the arterial line and drain out. So we pray that today we will work toward those goals, as well as get him to take a bottle. He has not eaten yet.
Thank you EVERYONE for the thousands of prayers said for our Juddy Buddy yesterday....we could never tell you how appreciative we are....or how much those prayers WORKED!! The surgeons literally said everything went as great as could be expected!!! It's just the Lord!!
We love each of You! Look for more updates soon, through my blog!! #Judsonsjourney
